This  winter, the 1st Winter Internship was held at the Learning Sciences Institute. A total of 11 participants, including students from the College of Education and other colleges as well as future teachers entering the TELD graduate program, joined the internship program.

The internship consisted of three main activities: (1) Learning Sciences Study, (2) Independent Research Planning, and (3) Project Observation.

(1) For the Learning Sciences Study, participants were assigned chapters from the textbook <How People Learn> to present, followed by a session of questions and discussions. This study session provided an opportunity to learn about learning sciences and the underlying theories of learning.

(2) The Independent Research Planning involved forming mentor-mentee teams to develop research plans on assigned topics. Doctoral and master's students from the TELD research lab participated as mentors. The research plans were based on four areas: educational neuroscience, AI-based education, learning analytics, and VR education.

(3) During the Project Observation, participants had the opportunity to attend project meetings in the TELD research lab, observing the application of theory to real-world projects. It was a valuable experience to learn how to apply learned theories and background knowledge to solve real problems.

The 1st Winter Internship at the Learning Sciences Institute achieved high satisfaction among participants. We plan to continue the Learning Sciences Institute internships in the future and look forward to your continued interest.
